Weekender

I'm sitting back with my stretchy pants on...thanks to a yummy dinner and chocolate cake, getting ready to finish my seminary lesson after listening to a fireside about standards...lot's on on my mind and lots to post. It's sort of a travel log...this post is...could be rather long.
Friday
Friday began with assembling foster care overnight kit bags at Val's house and then attending a Rotary luncheon with Val, Kiera, and Tina to thank them for their financial contribution to the project. What a great eye opening experience to be among citizens of your own community who are considering what ways they can influence, impact and serve their fellow neighbors. I also went to the Oak Park Homecoming assembly to watch Chloe sing and support Taylor in her Homecoming Queen nomination. Chloe was one of her charm givers. Later that afternoon I ended up taking Lola to the vet for a quick surgery to remove a claw that she had almost pulled out. No pictures...they would look just like the pictures of her last surgery.

Chloe went to the football game with friends, much to their disappointment, Oak Park lost their game. This all happened while Boyd and I are at our marriage class up at the stake center.

Saturday
Hunter went to driver's ed in the morning. Boyd and I went to run a couple of errands and eat lunch. When we got home I left to go to the store to buy beads to make Chloe some jewelry for Homecoming. On the way home I was rear-ended by a lady driving a mini van. Not too much damage, enough though to file a police report. And today my back is killing me. So, then I helped Chloe get ready for the Homecoming Dance and her date, Cody and her friends, Megan and Kyle came and met at our house for pictures. They got home from the dance on time (yeah!) and stayed and played wii until 1:30 am. Cody and Chloe looked so cute and really had a great time. It's so hard wrapping my brain around the fact that this is her senior year.

Also, while Chloe was at the dance and Hunter was babysitting, Boyd and I took Bridger to see Forever Strong, the movie about the Highland Rugby Team in Utah. I thought it was very well made and I was so impressed. I think we'll be taking the girls to see it for FHE. It was that good.

Sunday

Kiera fed us a yummy dinner and awesome birthday cake for my birthday. I've been so blessed by family and friends who love me. It's a scary thing knowing you're in your last year of 30's but being loved definately makes it bearable!

Thanks RitterB's....

Look Mom...Kiera even took pictures of me for you...check out the look on Boyd's face!We just got back from Standard's Night at the church. It was one of those nights that made my girls think and evaluate their standards. The bishopric was bold and open and I think made an impact on the youth. Heavy stuff but good to get out. Please just let my kids make the right decisions. So with that, I end my "travelog" weekend report. A typical crazy weekend at the Kanenwisher's. But even though we're a bit tired, we're feeling blessed.

Glad you had a nice birthday! Chloe is so lovely! I really like the yellow dress and she also looked stunning in blue. Sorry about being rear ended. Hate those lady drivers in minivans! Just kidding and I actually drive an armada. No minivan for me. I couldn't see myself in a minivan without picturing my mother. I'll have to check out that movie. I hadn't even heard of it.

Crazy busy weekend. We forgot to send birthday wishes. Wished we could have been there...cute dress and great pictures. Hope all is well...then again, I guess it always is when you're wearing stretchy pants.

Oh my goodness Cheryl Dawn - what a weekend!! If variety is the spice of life, you are the spice girl of the year!!! Chloe and Cody are knockouts!!! I am so sorry about your beautiful car and your hurt back, and it's double terrible that it happened on your birthday too. The foster kits look awesome and it looks like Kiera makes a killer cake. Boyd is hysterical in the picture. The movie sounds great. All in all, I think you had one to remember! Love you, and I am so glad you are safe!!!!
