Well, it's not like we weren't prepared for that! In fact, for two weeks Chloe has been saying that she was just so happy to be nominated...which is true. But, I think in the last few days, the possibility or even the slightest chance that she might be elected was a thought she entertained. Come on, what girl wouldn't secretly hope for that? But, I have to say she was nothing but cordial, congenial and genuinely excited for the girl that did win. There was nothing in her demeanor to suggest that she was disappointed. She was thrilled to get to know a new group of girls and she had so much fun with the activities leading up to last night, I don't think the thought ever crossed her mind to be sad.
There were candidate decorations for school, media interviews, photo sessions, video..both audio and visual, meetings and rehersals and bonding dinners all in preparation for last night's decision.

It was a busy day for her.School assembly where the candidates were presented in front of the entire student body...
At one point in the assembly they made the candidates participate in a challenge...the girls took off their shoes for it because they were running...Chloe never put hers back on. All day she kept saying, "this is more make-up than I wear in a week!" She had a hard time with the dressing up concept. Each girl was escorted in by a guy wearing a tux. The girls each chose a theme song to be played and a bio, including a recorded message by the girls, was given. The girls' families met them in center-court to present them with flowers and gifts. Each girl chose two girls to be "banner girls"(girls who hold up a banner with the candidate's name on it) and up to 4 friends as "charm-givers"...a school tradition. The theme was sort of an Alice in Wonderland concept.

Basket ball game half-time ceremony where the queen was announced...Here she comes in being escorted by Boyd as they brought in each of the candidates...

The candidates following the crown ceremony.

So hey, at least she's got some great memories and Fabulous shoes left over from the whole experience! No complaints here. Not to mention...she is a queen in our eyes.

TOTALLY BEST DRESSED! I just love her style...wonder where she gets it?! She is so classy...and um, the shoes....what size does she wear because I may borrow them! Chloe proves that you can be modest and stylish, and 17, all at the same time!
Seeing these photos was eye opening to me....I now understand why my mother was always trying to cover me up as as much as possible when I was in high school...I get it.
