Indulgent

Because it's taken us 17 years to get to Disneyland...we figured we'd pull out all the stops and do all the things every kid does when they go...no matter what age they are. I never offered or even suggested these things but when the kids asked...we did them. Whatever ride...whatever show...whatever line...whatever food...whatever character it was...we came, we went and we indulged. I knew that the chances of us ever going again were pretty slim and I didn't want any of my kids to say...remember that time in Disney when you wouldn't let me ride Mr. Toad's adventure? Stuff like that...you know.

I was a bit surprised when Hunter and Bridger wanted their faces painted...but that's what they wanted...so we did it.
and they thought they "needed" ears...
Not surprised by the cotton candy or chocolate cake...
I didn't even blink when we saved our coveted spots for 2 1/2 hours to watch the firework show each night.
We even took time out to "pose" for pictures...
And in return...the girls indulged me for a little silhouette action...

which turned out so good...that I actually cried.

It's all worth it...this indulgence. Can't wait to indulge again.

Ahhh...I wanted to do the Silhoutte thing but the girls (mostly Sophie) could not hold still long enough. I am jealous!!!

I love that you guys went and did it the right way! We'll be back again and I plan to indulge a little more. It's just different indulging a 2 or 3 year old who has no idea what it means to eat too much and feel sick. :) That's so fun that you guys were there. It's a great vacation--no matter your age. Did you try the giant chocolate chip cookies in California Adventure? Those were my favorite!

You absolutely did it the right way. The girls look adorable with their faces painted, and that cake is to die for! I can't wait to see the silhouettes! They are lucky that Grandma wasn't there or they would have to been patient a little longer so I could have one too! What fun!! Love you!!

Hooray for Disney trips! I'm so glad you went, had fun and did it the right way! You'll have great, long-lasting memories of a fantastic trip. Did you guys get the meal plan? We really liked doing that the last time we were there. Thanks to the Ritterbusch's who told us about it and convinced us it's the only way to go (with little kids who want to do character dinings, at least)

How fun! You guys look like you had an AWESOME time. Hope you had time to go to the beach too!

We live so close to Disneyland, but I can't remember the last time we went. Thanks for reminding me how fun it is...must go this summer!

How fun! My kids have never gone and we live 6 hours away, we just keep waiting for them to be ages to enjoy it and REMEMBER it -- I think we're almost there. Besides that, Make-A-Wish sent Amanda to Disney World a month before she passed away, and talk about ROCK STAR treatment -- since then, the thought of Disney hasn't appealed to us. Until recently. Love your pics.
