Moving right along

So, I'm sitting at the dentist this morning, waiting for Bridger to get finished with her appointment. I figured I spend at least 20-25 hours a year sitting in this office, waiting on kids. And so while I was figuring that out in my head, I also figured this one out...
I counted and recounted...
I've moved, to the best of my knowledge, 31 times in my life. There are a couple of years that I'm not quite sure of...but these are the moves I remember. So, if I'm 39.5 years old..on average...I've only lived in the same place 1.27 years. That means I moved every year and a quarter. I think that's a little crazy. I'm just thinking about the impact moving makes on relationships. I'm certain there are people who have moved more times than I have, but I'm just thinking about how that has effected me...not anyone else.
Why am I thinking about that? Those are the kinds of things my mind thinks about when I'm at the dentist.
Update: I thought of two more times that I moved since I've been back from the dentist...crazy.
Update #2: So, I've been talking to my Mom today and we came up with 2 more...so I'm up to 35 moves. 35 MOVES!!!

Great post!! It caused me to think about my moves. I think I counted to thirty but I may have missed one or two. That makes my average once every two years or so. I don't like to move, but at least life doesn't get too boring! I predict you will slow down the older you get - at least I did. Love you!!

Wow!! I thought my 9 times was high. I love moving! To me, there is nothing better than starting over with a clean slate of a house and being able to purge all of your stuff each time you move.

This is the first time in Haley's life that she has had more than one birthday in the same house - that poor girl has moved 5 times in 6 years - I believe she has us all beat!!!

Okay, so I had to think about this for me. I think 12 times. I don't think thats much considering I am 36. :-)

You win. I thought we had it bad with seven moves in seven years of marriage. But at least I stayed put as a kid!

Holy Smokes and I thought I'd moved alot. With my 5 kids -everyone was born in a different place entirely --I said I gotta quit getting pregnant and moving. 1. Pocatello Idaho. 2. Calgary Alberta, 3. Red Deer Alberta, 4. Chilliwack British Columbia. 5. Murray Utah---------sheesh enough already.
But right now --I'd love to move out of my hood.

I do not like moving period. The worst move that I made was to here, b'cos I had to leave my daughter who was a Sr in high school behind so she can finish high school in Utah. My dog (Aussie) and I travel together and I cried on and off all the way here.

Wow! I think you might have moved even more than me. I'm going to have to figure it out now. Hmmm... Maybe I'll have to go hang out in the dentists office to figure it out.

Wow! You've got me beat. My father worked for IBM when I was growing up. We joked it stood for I've Been Moved.
